Maybe you want to immortalize your own hands doing something that your great, great, great grandchildren (whom you’ll never meet) that won’t exist 100 years from now. Imagine picking up a rotary phone or hand writing a letter and the questions that future generations will ask about the past and about you.
Personally, I wish I had a photo of my Dad with his standard cup of coffee and a cigarette. My dad worked hard and his hands were full of cuts and callouses. I can totally see his hands in my mind and they guide me in my art practice.

How does it work?
REFERENCE PHOTO(S) - Your photography or mine?
The quality of the photo is paramount. The key to capturing the story of one’s hands is the scars, the folds and the fingerprints that make them unique. I love to travel and am happy to come to you.
STYLE - I will edit the images to align with my established style. Usually this is intense color and sharpened details and larger than life. The hand (the star of the portrait) is enlarged to approximately 200% of life size.
EDITING - If you don’t have just the right photo, no worries. I can combine images, remove backgrounds, etc. Is your loved one gone? I offer my most sincere condolences. In most cases, we can still make this work.
COST - Because I am an emerging artist, my work is currently at its’ best value. Art work is an investment. I will send you a firm quote with consideration to the specifications that you have communicated to me.
QUALITY - I use products that last a lifetime. Only high quality oil paints, brushes and mediums are used. I paint on aluminum panels that will never degrade. I also varnish everything for a professional look and additional protection. I focus on, not only the emotion and message of the art work but also the value as an investment. All works come signed and with a Certificate of Authenticity.
TIME - In the quote, I will provide a time frame for all parts of the work. This will depend on current work load. Once I get started, it takes approximately 1 month to complete or approximately 70-100 painting hours depending on size. There will be a drying period and then varnishing. The work will be framed and then shipped with full value insurance.
